The Belly Chronicles; edition 6

The 31 week belly

I am way behind in this installment of "The Belly Chronicles", but I have not been feeling very motivated to do much. That, plus semi-bed rest has put me far away from the computer universe. I will revisit for a short while to at least give you all an update!

We are quickly approaching 32 weeks, which seems so wild to me. I really don't have much time left, especially if these boys decide to come early (yeah right!). At my last Doctor's appointment we went down to Apple Valley to see the specialist again. The boys both look great, all parts identified, lots of amniotic fluid, good blood flow, so far so good! We got a weight estimate on each. Axel is head down (for now...they keep flipping, already giving me trouble :) and weighs around 3 pounds. Bronco was head down too, for the moment, and weighs a little more then his brother. He is about 3 pounds 7 ounces. So they are looking good, not too big or too small, and as long as they stay within a pound of each other we are doing excellent.

I am doing a little better, feeling a little better. I get tired easily (to be expected) and I am often sore (back, legs, ligaments) so I wear a belly support band when I am up and about. Most of the time I am resting, chugging the water ( I still think a gallon a day is a lot!). My blood pressure has been good in the acceptable parameters, so that has been a relief. My blood sugar is a little high. I had to do both glucose tests, and I was right on the border line with both. So, to be cautious, Dr. W has me on the low carb. diabetic diet. I still cheat now and then, a woman needs her chocolate, but my blood sugar has still been fine even with the cheating. Gestational Diabetes is very common with twins because of all the extra hormones floating around in my body. Apparently hormones and insulin don't get along very well, mine seem on the brink of cooperation! Other then that we are doing well, just counting down the days until we can meet our precious little boys. We have probably about another month and a half before the arrive...we hope!!

The time left seems like it's never gonna end, but at the same time it's coming so quick! I feel for you, because I am not feeling too hot myself and I know that yours is multiplied. But the good days get me by and I just do my best on the bad days. I have to say it definately helps having someone to go through this with.
