Game Day!!!

The big day, and Matt got to share it with some special men! Matt and his boys were able to watch the big BYU VS UTAH game with both grandpas! I don't know that the boys did much watching, but Dad and the Grandpa's sure had fun! Go BYU!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

We went to Utah for Thanksgiving again this year. It was great seeing family and introducing the boys to everyone.

Here is Cora in her Indian outfit from pre-school...she thought she looked pretty good.
Here the boys and I are with my mom and grandma Gale...their only living great-grandmother

We sure miss being close to family...especially during the holiday season. We are very thankful for all the love and support they give us. Family is everything!

Veteran's Day

Ok, so I am playing blog catch up...can you really blame me?
Here are some pictures we took on our Veteran's day outing. The first real outing for the boys, except they stayed in their carseats in the van because it was windy! We have a painted rock monument just outside of post here. All the units that come here for training, paint their unit insignia on a rock. The girls had a blast climbing around, identifing all of dad's old insignia's and discovering new ones. We also had a picnic lunch of fried chicken...very fun afternoon!

A dear friend was so kind as to take some pictures of the boys for their birth announcements. Here are a few of my favorite shots.

We love our Boppy!

The boys love their boppy pillows. That is where they spend most of the sleeping time. They will be content for hours, all snuggled in their boppy!

Sister Love, or Mamma's Helpers

Here are some pictures of Mamma's big helpers. These boys have three extra mommies! I don't know what I would do without my girls to help. I am so proud of them, and the love they are showing their new brothers. Thank You girls!!

Double the Fun...or Double the Trouble!

Pumpkins on Halloween....

On Halloween this year, we carved our pumpkins.

First off the girls wanted to paint some mini pumpkins that we had.

Anya and her "square-ish" pumpkin

Hannah stayed true to her vampire theme this year. Everything she has been making this Halloween season had vampire teeth.
Cora didn't want to carve a mouth...she just wanted to draw it. She did the rest of her pumpkin all by herself!

Hannah giving her advice to Dad about the design of the family pumpkin.

Pizza Tombstones....

Our yummy pizza Tombstones!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year. It was simple, but fun. Grandma Overton and Aunt Trudy were able to come out and see the babies. They also spent Halloween with us! We carved our pumpkins earlier in the afternoon, and made pizza tombstones (not the brand) for dinner. After dinner it was time to get dressed up and ready to get candy, candy, candy!
Anya was a fierce black cat this year.
Hannah, in the Christmas spirit already, wanted to be Rudolph.

Cora was a beautiful ballerina this year.

Hunter was our little pumpkin, and Jack was our little pirate.

Here is our Jeppson brood...all FIVE of them!!

Jack and Hunter's Birth Story

On October 13, 2009 we found out for sure that we would deliver the boys on October 14. This gave me a day of dashing around madly to get ready. I had three girls to pack up and send off to friend for sleepovers (they were more excited about this then having their brothers arrive), plus a house to clean and myself to get ready. We arrived at the hospital at 6am on the morning of the 14th. I was very nervous, this was my first c-section (Hunter was breech and left us with no other option!), and I wasn't really sure what to expect. My deliveries have been fairly easy...so this one has been my most challenging. At 630am all my I.V.'s were started, and the "risk" talks had begun. By 7am, Dennis Turner ( Matt's executive secretary for Church) came and started the prep work for my spinal block ( he did great...Thanks Dennis!!!!) At 8am I was walked to the OR room and everything was prepped. I got to wear a pretty floral cap, and Matt got to wear purple scrubs! Purple for boys....oh well!!! Everything was marked and color coded for Baby A and Baby B. It was determined that Baby B would probably be delivered first since he was more forward then Baby A. Once I was numb, the surgery began. As I was opened up, Jack (baby B), waved at the doctors from inside the amniotic sac. My doctor and the assisting doctor thought this was most amazing, and talked about it for days. Jack was delivered without complications, and was crying right away. ( sigh of relief). Hunter was delivered next, and also started crying right away. What a wonderful feeling, hearing my boys crying in stereo all around me! Matt got to "trim" the cord on both his boys. They both got great AP GAR scores ( 8's and 9's), were wrapped up, shown to me, and whisked away to be observed and warmed. Matt went with them, and I went off to recovery until I could wiggle my toes (ugh!). It seems like I was there forever. They brought Jack to me, and he nursed right away, first try. I was so drugged up with morphine it was hard to keep my eyes open, but I remember thinking how beautiful Jack was. Hunter I met a few hours later. He had some trouble adjusting to "outside" air, and was breathing really rapidly. He needed oxygen for a bit, but pulled through beautifully within a couple of hours. At that point I was able to have him brought to me, and love on him as well. He took to breast feeding right away too. We will see how long I am able to keep it up, I plan to also supplement with formula too. They are both beautiful, and such good nursers. They are really very good babies. We feel very blessed to have these perfect, healthy boys in our family. Myself, recovery had been normal. It took a little longer the a normal delivery to recover, but I feel really good now. I am just enjoying loving on my boys and getting to know them. Below are some pictures documenting their birth and first day in the world.
