The First Day of School

Here in California, school started early this year. The first day

of school was August 6th! Anya started 4th grade, Hannah started 2nd grade and Cora started

part day pre-school.

Anya has a great teacher this year. She is the cluster/gifted class teacher and we have heard lots of good things about her. She also comes

highly recommended from our PTO president. She also happens to have two of her

best friends in her class this year, Shiloh and Cora, both are sitting at her table with her.

Besides her best friends, she has numerous other friends from her class last year.

She thinks it will be a great year!

Hannah has a wonderful teacher who is highly sought after this year too. We were blessed to have a wonderful 1st grade teacher last year, who loved Hannah to pieces, and pulled

some strings to get Hannah into her 2nd grade teacher's class. We are very

excited about the year ahead, and so far Hannah loves her teacher!

Cora is attending morning pre-school, and is so excited about it. She has been

wanting to go to school for forever now. In past years she got very upset when her big

sisters got their backpacks ready with all their new school supplies. Well this

year Cora got to get her backpack ready too, and she was sooo thrilled! Matt and I still have

mixed feelings about sending our "baby" to school already, but with the boys coming soon

and Cora wanting to go, we decided it was time to "cut the cord"!

It looks to be a promising year, and the girls already had a great start! They love their classes and their teachers and they are making some great new friends!
